Hal
Greenberg and Kevin Melka Join Bastion Press
February 19th, 2004
SEATTLE, Wa. – Bastion Press announced today that longtime industry
veterans Kevin Melka and Hal Greenberg have formally joined Bastion
Press.
Kevin Melka brings his longtime industry experience with TSR and
Fast Forward to Bastion Press, where he now serves as Creative
Director. He'll be responsible for working with all of Bastion's
designers and making sure that the rules are balanced and thoroughly
tested before they see print.
Hal Greenberg, one of the co-founders of Thunderhead Games and loyal
slave to Mystic Eye Games, now serves as Bastion's Art Director,
replacing Brannon Hollingsworth who will be focusing his creative
efforts on writing. Artists who were working with Brannon will now
have to suffer under the cruel hand of the Pantless One.
"I have always enjoyed Bastion Press’ work and had the pleasure of
doing a few books as interim Art Director. When the position opened
again I jumped at the chance to work with Jim and his team. I'm
already hard at work, since Jim always says, 'Why put off something
today when I can have you do it right now…call me back in ten my
masseuse is here.'" said Hal Greenberg.
"The folks at Bastion Press are some of the best in the industry,"
said Kevin Melka, "and it is a great pleasure to work with such
talented individuals. We have some cool and exciting ideas planned
for the coming year, and when Jim asked me to be Creative Director
for his company it was impossible to say no. I've known Jim since
the days of TSR, and I can think of no one else I'd rather work
with. And unlike my Art Director counterpart, I vow to always wear
pants when officially representing Bastion Press."
"I'm ecstatic that both Kevin and Hal have teamed up with Bastion
Press to continue bringing the best games in the industry to the
gaming community," said Jim Butler, President and CEO of Bastion.
"I've worked with both Kevin and Hal in the past, and their drive
and dedication to games will serve to make Bastion's products even
better."
