FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Bellevue, WA) -- December 5, 2001
OrganizedPlay, Inc., a developer of software supporting game player networks, and licensee of the RPGA® LIVING CITY OF RAVEN'S BLUFF™ campaign, announced today that it has entered into a long-term development agreement with Bastion Press, Inc., in support of the LIVING CITY campaign. Through this agreement, Bastion Press will create scenarios for use with the LIVING CITY campaign. Each month, Bastion will deliver five scenarios: one for low-level characters, three for a wide range of character levels, and a fifth for high-level characters.
OrganizedPlay CEO Ryan S. Dancey is extremely pleased with the arrangement. "Bastion Press is an ideal partner for LIVING CITY," he commented. "Jim Butler and his team at Bastion have the kind of design resources the campaign needs for long-term stability and success. Our major goal for LIVING CITY is to improve the player experience, and getting a steady supply of top-drawer scenarios is a key part of that strategy."
The LIVING CITY campaign is licensed to OrganizedPlay by Hasbro's Wizards of the Coast division, based in Renton, WA. The campaign is based in the FORGOTTEN REALMS® world, and uses the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® roleplaying game. The scenarios created by Bastion for the LIVING CITY campaign will require approval by Wizards of the Coast prior to release.
Jim Butler has edited and designed a number of FORGOTTEN REALMS products. He designed the Sword of the Dales, Secret of Spiderhaunt, and Return of Randal Morn adventures; The Vilhon Reach accessory; and co-authored The North and Netheril: Empire of Magic boxed sets. He served as editor on Elminster's Ecologies and How the Mighty Are Fallen. He also led the FORGOTTEN REALMS team into 3rd-Edition D&D® with the relaunch of the campaign setting, serving as brand manager for all the D&D worlds, and has worked with Interplay and SSI on their computer games set in the Realms.
After leaving Wizards of the Coast in April 2001, Jim Butler formed Bastion Press, Inc. to craft high-quality D20™ game products. His company's first product, a 96-page full-color monster manual, entitled Minions: Fearsome Foes, hits stores in December. Bastion's January release is Arms & Armor, and in February they release Villains into the D20 world. Additional information is available at the Bastion Press Web site
