Sharing the creations of others is one of the many things that's great about roleplaying. On this page, you'll find the archives of our weekly downloads as well as creations by new members. If you have something you'd like to share, just drop a line to Jim Butler and he'll make it available for everyone.

All text-based downloads are available as PDF files. You'll need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. If you submit something that's not a PDF file, we'll convert it over first before making it available. Images should be in JPEG format, though saving them as a PDF also works.

Don't worry if something you want to submit isn't listed in a category below. We'll add new categories as we receive more downloads. Adventures, maps, magical items, spells, artifacts, etc. are all fair game. Enjoy!

Oathbound: Horrors of Penance

By Brannon Hollingsworth & Ken Marable

The Forge is known as a place of extremesa place where even the most mundane sensation evokes a new impression into one’s psyche.  While rarely spoken of, fear is no less heightened on the Forge, and to experience this sensation while within one of the Seven Domains is to invite mind-freezing and soul-searing terror into one’s being.

Horrors of Penance delves into and captures this dread in the form of two chilling tales of impenetrable darkness that feature bizarre murders, spine-riveting suspense, ancient
curses gone awry, hordes of the living dead, horrific torture, and much, much more!  If your characters (or players) have a specific fear, chances are Horrors of Penance will not only bring it screaming to the surface of their souls, but also thrust itraw and bloodyinto their faces.

Horrors of Penance, penned by the authors of the introductory Oathbound® adventure, Dark Welcomes, contains two complete adventures: Craving Darkness, for 10th level characters; and Totem, for 17th level heroes.  Further, Horrors of Penance provides no less than thirteen new ideas for horror-themed adventures or campaigns that are detailed for the Oathbound Campaign Setting, but could easily be adapted for any campaign!

Written by Brannon Hollingsworth and Ken Marable. Edited by Robert Vaughn. Cover and Interior illustrations by Jesse Mohn. Cartography by Jeremy Simmons.  Typesetting by Jack Gray. Two version are included (one with borders and one without) for easy printing. 50 pages. Throughout the domains of the Forge, you’d have to pay 200 gp for this adventure, but on this alternate prime we call Earth it’s free.

What the Reviewers Say...

Horrors of Penance can be a really tight dungeon crawl for the experienced player. Not for the weak at heart, the undead Lector stalkers in the first adventure and the pit fiend hopeful make for an exiting and deadly couple of nights of gaming. A+. Read the review at the d20 Magazine Rack.
